We Have A House!

Our house is finally starting to look like a house!  Last Saturday, we were happy to see the framing of the walls.  Below left, is a close up of the front of the house (front porch).  Next is a picture futher back of the front and left side.  Far right picture is of the right side of the house where the garage will be.

You can really start to see what our house will look like in the pictures below.  They have framed the ceiling and started closing it in!

They're almost finished framing it!  (Don't you just love the dumpster in the front!)

And now we have a finished framed house!  I believe the roof comes next, then the brick!

So, whatcha think? :)

Home Sold Home

Hey Everyone!  After some encouragement from a good friend, (thanks Katie, we'll see how this goes!), I decided to start a blog about the building of our new home!  As most of you know, we decided to try to sell our house ourselves and were very worried we wouldn't be able to considering the status of the housing market.  We put a sign in the yard and made some flyers around the first of April.  To our surprise, just a little over a month later we received some serious interest and had a contract on May 21!  Yay!  So, Jason signed the docs and we offically became homeless on June 21.

Now, we seriously needed to get the move on on looking for our new house.  We met with our realtor one Saturday morning and looked at a dozen houses.  None of them seemed just right until we walked in a home in Forest Glen that wasn't quite finished, but almost.  We fell in love...only to find out that it was already under contract! (Extreme sad face). So luckily, we talked to one of the builders who was more than happy to build the same floor plan just one street over!  So hence...a whole new home!  We immediately met with the builder at the designated lot and signed the contract!  I don't have a picture of just the grassy lot, but here it is with the concrete slab poured and the plumbing sticking out!

Yay for dirt and concrete!  That's all for now, but stay tuned :)
